Love arriving, love departing

      - promises

that can't be redeemed.

We learn and we relearn

        lessons

that can't be used.

Love surprising, love subduing

      - a gift

that can't be bought.

We find and we lose

       the reasons

to begin love again somehow.

Between us, beyond us

       meanings

that can't be explained.

The mirror refuses the image.

No thing visible in it.

The mind refuses the memory.

No thing available to recollect.
